Compared with the materials of the galvanized steel wire and zinc-aluminum alloy steel wire for gabions, PVC coated steel wire is suitable for woven gabions only which can be double twisted and triple twisted. The features of PVC coated gabion is colorful and ecological. The PVC coating has a nominal thickness of 0.50 mm.The green, gray, blue and other colors for common applications, it also can be made into orange, black and other various colors for choice.
Gabions are filled with stones at the project site to form flexible, permeable, monolithic structures such as retaining walls, channel linings, and weirs for erosion control projects. PVC coated gabion is applied to provide additional protection for use in polluted, contaminated or aggressive environments: in salt, fresh water, acid soil or wherever the risk of corrosion is present.
