As Hole type difference
Based on its different hole, it mianly has Hexagonal gabion box and welded gabion box two types. They all can be filled with natural stone for river, hill protection or construction. And for larger size, it all need to add the diaphragms in the middle.
As Materials difference:
The Hexagonal gabion box is made of twist wire mesh with hexagonal opening. The welded gabions is made of the welded square panel .the galvanized steel wire and zinc-aluminum alloy (Galfan wire) steel wire can be woven and welded gabions both, But the PVC wire only is just suitable for the Hexagonal gabion box. About the plastic coated type welded gabion basket, it can be used the steel wires or galvanized wires for fabrication and then be treated with PVC coating.
As Installation difference
Hexagonal gabion basket is assembed by selvedge wire and lacing wire. Welded gabion box, each panel is connected by spiral tensile wire to form a box structure. Sometimes, it also use the U clip connection. or hook connection.
